Stratford Town 0 Westfields 2
TWO second-half goals gave high-flying Westfields a thrilling win last night against the Midland Alliance champions.
Stratford suffered a blow at half time when striker Anthony Robinson was sent-off after an incident in the players’ tunnel.
Westfields deservedly broke the deadlock in the 75th minute when a cross from Aidan Thomas was turned into his own net by Loyiso Recci.
The visitors doubled their lead when Jamie Cuss laid on a pass to Thomas who rifled in a superb left-foot shot into the corner.
Westfields travel to Boldmere tomorrow (Saturday) in the hope of maintaining their bid to finish runners-up in the league. Westfields’ final home match of the season is against Highgate United on Monday, kick-off 7.45pm at allpay.park.
