HEREFORD United’s players have been told by text message that they won’t be getting paid for the foreseeable future.
The players were expecting their April wages today and are still owed some of March’s wages by the cash-strapped Edgar Street club.
Only one player – Chris Sharp – is contracted to play for United next season.
Manager Martin Foyle sent a group text message to the players and chairman David Keyte spoke to the club's staff at Edgar Street.
Goalkeeper James Bittner has told his Twitter followers that he will be heading to the job centre on Monday.
Craig Jones has called it a 'bad day for Hereford United' and says there's no money whatsoever.
Hereford United chairman Dave Keyte told the Hereford Times at 8.55pm that the club will be releasing a statement shortly.
Five years ago today, United secured promotion to League One after a memorable day at Brentford.
