Leominster Town 1 Hanwood 3.
LEOMINSTER’S precarious grip on a mid-table finish in West Midlands Regional League Division One slipped again.
A final place in the bottom three is now a real possibility if rivals pick up the points Town drop. Town were never out of sight and Sam Thomas capped another man-of-the-match performance to make the mazy run that put Ben Price through to score. At 2-1 down on half-time, the Briarwood Boys had something to go for.
But, yet again, the killer goal was given away within minutes of the re-start leaving them with too much to do. Town face another tough survival test this Saturday against Mahal.
Promotion-chasing Hereford Lads Club and Bartestree both notched wins in Division Two. A late goal from Matt Maturi earned Lads Club a 1-0 win at Red Star Alma.
Maturi reacted quickly to fire home after Danny Moon’s free-kick had been well saved.
Lads Club had plenty of opportunities but were out of luck until Maturi’s goal.
Bartestree remain in second place in the table after Matthew Reeve fired then to a 1-0 win at Team Dudley.
