TOMMY Burton carried off the player-of-the-season award when Herefordshire Squash and Racketball Association held their annual finals night at Whitecross Club.
Burton, who plays for Whitecross 3, was rewarded for his consistency in winning the majority of his matches.
Burton’s Whitecross 3 suffered defeat in a thrilling knockout cup final against club-mates Whitecross Wannabees.
The match was tied at 2-2 but Sean McNally kept his cool to beat Tony Chapman 3-0 to take the final for the Wannabees.
The league trophy was present to the Doctors team who went unbeaten through the season, winning 13 and drawing one of their 14 games to claim the title for the first time since 2006.
