FOUR away points in three days boosted Pegasus Juniors’ prospects of a top-seven finish in the Premier Division of the West Midlands League.
A hat-trick by Chris Mortlock was the centre-piece of a 4-1 win at Wellington Amateurs.
Mortlock fired the city side ahead after just four minutes and scored again before the break before completing his treble in the second period. Peter Lucas was also on target for Juniors.
On Saturday, Paul Allam had a penalty saved at Wolverhampton Sporting Community but made amends shortly afterwards by firing Juniors ahead.
The home side had greater success from the spot after a foul by Kane Kahaki but, with a man-of-the-match display from 18-year-old debutant Ryan Wilkes, Juniors were good value for a point.
Two goals from Paul Jones failed to bring any reward for a young Wellington side who were beaten 3-2 at home by Willenhall Town.
The villagers led twice but, despite good performances by Sam Archer-Plane and Gareth George, the visitors hit back to take the points.
Bromyard Town lost 4-1 at Shawbury United.
In Division One, Leominster produced one of their best displays of the season to see off visiting Mahal 4-1.
Teenager Dan Sharp capped a man-of-the-match display with Town’s third goal with Ben Price, Mark Rusling and Sam Pearson also on target.
Town need just a point from their remaining two matches to avoid a bottom-three finish.
