TWO Burghill Valley golfers have achieved the coveted distinction of a hole-in-one in the latest round of competitions.
Geordie Knox bagged his ace in the Powell Cup, but his effort was only enough for second place in the Division One section.
Senior member Brian Donaldson aced the 127-yard par-three third in the Seniors’ May Medal and was rewarded with membership of the exclusive BOSS watches H1 Club.
“I was amazed, astounded and ecstatic,” said Donaldson. “In 30 years of playing, 22 of those as a member at Burghill Valley, this is my first hole-in-one.”

Westfields’ annual golf day at Herefordshire GC attracted their biggest-ever entry with 27 fourball teams taking part.
The stableford event, with the best two scores to count on all holes and all scores to count on the par three, was won by The Tamworth Four who pipped Marshall’s Boys into second.
Former Westfields manager Bobby Wynn led his team from Builth Wells to third place.
Longest drive was won by Will Lloyd with Dave Rowlands taking the nearest-the-pin prize.
Best score on the par threes was won by Westcom.

Cradoc Seniors beat Brecon Seniors 4½-3½ with the Cradoc points coming from Jack Massey and Graham Chamberlain (two up), John Ingham and Dave Matthews (4 and 2), Rick Jones and John Morris (2 and 1) while Dave Holton and Len Green securing the half.
In the South Wales Seniors Classic, Cradoc ‘A’ won 2-1 against Coed Y Mwstwr, Cradoc ‘B’ were beaten 2-1 by The Grove and Cradoc ‘C’ lost 2-1 to Machynys despite a winning performance from Colin Rosser and Rick Jones (2 and 1).
Cradoc Hallets secured a 2-2 draw with Rhondda with Aled Rogers and John Neal (5 and 4) and Mike Lynch and Martin Like (2 and 1) winning their games.
