BRIMFIELD bowlers had double success in the Herefordshire rinks competition with two ladies' teams making it through to the national finals in Leamington later this year.
The two flat rink teams will now play each other in the county finals, which will be held at Brimfield this year. But, under the rules of the competition, both finalists progress to the national championships in the summer.
“It’s a great achievement for us so early in the season. “The draw was kind, keeping us apart, and it's lovely that the final will be played out at our club,” said Brimfield's chairman and county ladies’ president, Jennie Cole.
Barbara Griffiths, Karen Tandler, Marie Wall and Lynne Allen defeated Leominster in the county semi-final with Jennie Cole, Josie Ward, Helen Skinner and reserve Barbara D Griffiths (replacing Marion Wheatley) marching on after beating a team from Ross in the other last-four clash.
