HEREFORDSHIRE showjumper Theresa Anderson took top spot in the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round.
Anderson, from Credenhill, was riding her 10-year-old bay mare Kashmir VS and produced the fastest double clear of the class to power through the finish in just 44.58 seconds.
That gave her a near five second lead over Jancey Wembridge, from Taunton, Somerset, who finished in 49.48 seconds.
A total of 32 combinations came forward to contest the class at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire, and it proved to be an exciting competition for those focused on securing a direct qualifying place for the championships.
Katie-Anne James, from Chepstow, secured her place inside the top three, with Danielle James' eight-year-old grey gelding Heathercombe Dancing Cloud.
That pair achieved their double clear in 50.45 seconds.
The Dodson & Hurrell National Amateur Championships will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool from November 18 to 22.
