THIS year's Inter-School Show Jumping competition at Lucton School has been deemed the biggest yet.
More than 150 children from 12 schools took part in the event, which was held at the school's new Equestrian Centre
“We ordered perfect weather and it was delivered," said organiser Emma Coates.
"It was thrilling to see so many young people out riding and enjoying themselves.
"I was so impressed with the exceptional standard of the jumping this year.”
All seven classes were hotly contested and headmistress Gill Thorne hopes the event will become a mainstay in the county;s equine calendar.
“Next year we anticipate having even more teams and individuals competing," she said.
"It’s an event for the whole family to enjoy and we’re so glad that so many spectators, as well as riders, turned out to show their support.”
Set in 14 acres, immediately opposite the school, the centre offers stabling for 14 horses, riding lessons and public hire.
