A YOUNG rider excelled at the Horse of the Year Show art the NEC in Birmingham.
Hannah Wilson, who goes to Lucton School, won the Colne Mountain and Moorland Lead Rein Championship aboard her pony Thistledown Van Der Vaart, known as Charles.
The seven-year-old, who was competing only her second ride at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS_ also finished fifth in the Show Pony Lead Rein Class on Hollybush Enchantment.
Hannah's mother Sharon Wilson said it was a day her family will never forget.
"Hannah took it all in her stride and had the time of her life," said Sharon.
"She is a very proud little girl, this being only her second ride at HOYS."
"Charles (Thistledown Van Der Vaart) is now enjoying a well earned rest in the Herefordshire countryside before preparations start for the 2016 showing season."
Hannah will be showing off her winnings at an equine event held at the Leominster Countrywide branch this Saturday morning.
"We hold an equine event every 12 months for deals to take place, but we try and make it a bit different if we can, so having Hannah come to the store is great," said agricultural specialist Thomas Walford.
"How many people of that age can say that they have won an event at Horse of the Year?
"Not many. It is a great achievement."
