Presteigne 7 Llanidloes 1 NEW Spar Mid Wales League champions Presteigne wound up their season with a convincing win against the bottom-placed side.
The home team made a fine start with Shaun Prince opening the scoring after just five minutes.
Luke Boundford shot just over and Steve Morgan had a shot saved before Prince added his second five minutes before the break.
The young striker completed his hat-trick just after the break before substitute Darren Jones scored the goal of the game with a 35-yard screamer.
Good work by Morgan on the right enabled Jones to add his second shortly afterwards and he went close to notching a hat-trick of his own with a powerful drive against the bar.
The visitors pulled a goal back before some neat work by Chris Jones played in Phil Ruell for Presteigne's sixth.
Chris Jones was again the provider in the closing stages when he set up Morgan for the home side's seventh goal.
After the match, Presteigne were presented with the Spar Mid Wales League Championship Trophy, bringing a fitting end to Alan Randell's 10 years as chairman of the club.
