THE City of Hereford Swimming Club has seen four of its swimmers qualify for the National Short Course Championships.
James Bilbao and Grace Eddy, both 14, Calypso Harvey, 17, and 27-year-old Patrick Meggitt will all take part in the event which take space at Forge in Sheffield the week before Christmas.
The meet will give competitors the swimmers the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of athletes aiming to represent at national level during next year's Rio Olympics.
Bilbao will race over his favoured 200m breaststroke distance, while Meggitt will compete in the 1,500m front crawl.
Meanwhile, Harvey and Eddy will have a slightly busier time with Eddy competing in 50m, 100m and 200m front crawl, while Harvey has the heaviest race programme, competing in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, 200m and 400m Individual Medley and the 200m front crawl.
Meanwhile, Bilbao, who has been selected for phase 1 of the England talent programme, has been picked for England Talent Phase 2 and will head straight from the National Short Course Championships to Millfield School in Somerset.
Eddy's outstanding performances this year have been acknowledged at regional level with her selection to represent the West Midlands Regional Team at the international Flanders meet in Antwerp, Belgium in January.
