BAD weather disrupted the Tarmac Bowls League programme as greens were flooded, causing several matches to be postponed.
Only two fixtures beat the weather and Kington took full advantage to move well clear at the top of the table with their third win out of four matches played.
Their 22-shot win over Kingsland saw only one rink going to the visitors with a two shot win by J Culver's rink. Meanwhile, Ivor Morgan's rink for Kington picked up the best win on the day with a 27-13 victory.
Leominster beat Brimfield to make it two wins out of two matches played.
They moved up to third place behind Wellington in a match that was evenly balanced well into the second half before the home club pulled away for a 17-shot win.
Fred Williams' rink led Leominster to a three-rink bonus points haul with a 26-13 win, but Josie Cole's rink made sure of some rink points for the visitors with a 22-17 win against a strong home rink.
Hay have yet to open their league programme as their first match away to Kington was lost to the weather.
In the corresponding fixture last year, Kington came unstuck, losing to Hay for their only defeat in their championship winning year. The match has now been rearranged for June 22.
Results: Kington 81 Kingsland 59, Leominster 83 Brimfield 6.
