BURGHILL Valley 10-handicapper Cliff Evans played solid golf over four days to hold off the challenge of two clubmates and retain the Rolex Tour title on the Costa del Sol, Spain.
It was the 12th year of the stableford event, contested by nine players, with the winner each day receiving nine points, the second players eight points and the third, seven etc.
Evans finished just one point ahead of Noel Downes and two ahead of third-placed Andy Morris.
The tourists played sunshine golf at Paradour, Baviera, Guadalhorce and Anoreta before being flown home by a Herefordshire-based pliot. To their surprise, Captain Kevin Jones, of Hampton Bishop, was at the controls of their Easyjet flight from Malaga to Bristol.
Tour results - Paradour: 1 Cliff Evans, 2 Andy Morris; Baviera: 1 Roy Williams, 2 Noel Downes, 3 Des Shaw; Guadalhorce: 1 Cliff Evans, 2 Noel Downes, 3 Mark Williams; Anoreta: 1 Andy Morris, 2 Micky Williams.
