ST PAUL'S School have won their way through to the finals of the ESFA National Seven-a-side competition in Nottingham.
The Hereford school finished top of their group in the Midlands regional final by beating Lincolnshire 2-0, Derbyshire 1-0 and West Midlands 3-0, claiming a goalless draw with Leicestershire and losing to Staffordshire 2-0.
In a tense semi-final, St Paul's won through on penalties against Nottinghamshire to earn a place against Humberside representatives Ainsthorpe Primary School from Hull.
At the end of extra-time, neither side had managed to conjure up a goal but on this occasion the shoot-out went against St Paul's 2-1.
Runners-up spot was, however, good enough to earn St Paul's a place in the national finals which take place at Keele University on June 16.
After competing on the regional stage, St Paul's turned their attentions to city matters and carried off the Hereford and District A Cup with a 2-0 win over Hampton Dene in the final.
But it is not only the boys of St Paul's who have been showing their football prowess.
Thirty girls from the school have taken part in the HFA Girls' League and one of their teams carried off the title.
The girls also travelled to Nottingham to take part in the ESFA Girls' Regional six-a-side tournament where they lost 2-0 to Warwickshire and 1-0 to West Midlands before securing a goalless draw with Worcestershire.
