ROSEY Athletic may have been missing star striker Stuart Fleetwood but his replacement was more than ready to fill in for the former Hereford United man today.
Richard Daw scored two as his side beat Wigmore 3-1 in the Herefordshire Supercraft Sunday Division at Gorsty Lane.
His brace came in a lively opening 20 minutes when Tom Williams also notched for the visitors to bring the scores, momentarily, level.
Liam Blake scored Rosey's third - and the game's fourth - when he volleyed home shortly before the interval.
After the break, Rosey had chances to extend their lead but Tom Cutler fired wide and Daw missed a header from a dangerous in-swinging corner.
And Ian Srangward, in the Rosey goal, also played his part in ensuring the home side kept their two-goal advantage as they ensured their hopes alive of finishing in the top half of the table lived on.
Elsewhere, Shooters beat White Lion 7-0 and Bromyard Colts defeated the Vaga to win the Shelton Cup at allpay park.
