GREYHOUND are through to the final of the North Midlands Vase Plate Final following a comfortable 46-20 win over Yardley & District.
The Dogs will meet Church Stretton this Sunday, with the final being an 11.15am kick-off at Dudley Kingswinford.
It only took 10 minutes for Greyhound to open the scoring against Yardley.
Elliot Phillips drove over for the try, which was converted by Shaun Meredith.
Phillips then teed up Oli Paton to extend Greyhound's lead.
Yardley pulled an unconverted try back, but it did not take long before the home side hit back when Nathan Morris went over the line.
That took Greyhound into the half-time interval 19-5 ahead.
Yardley again claimed another try after the break, but that spurred Greyhound on.
Morris broke the defence to put Pete Smith through, who followed up with a second try minutes later.
The home side were on fire at this point and Morris chased a chip through by Darren Braithwaite for his second try.
The visitors started to keep the ball in the forwards and managed to pull another five points back.
But, straight from the kick-off, Phillips broke the defence to put Morris through for his third try.
Not to be outdone, Phillips picked up from the scrum, and despite the attentions of four defenders, went over in the last seconds of the game.
This Sunday's final could have been an all-Herefordshire affair, but Bromyard lost 32-21 to Church Stretton.
Bromyard surrendered a 14-3 half-time lead, with Stretton proving too powerful in the second half.
With the elements in their favour, Bromyard responded quickly to an early penalty from Stretton thanks to tries from John Parker and Matt Swain; both converted by Toby Rivers.
But the home side dominated the second half and Bromyard only mustered one try, scored by John Pudge.
