ORLETON racing driver Roger Moran moved up to second spot in the British Hill Climb Championship rankings when he won two rounds at Loton Park on Sunday.

And Yarkhill racer Sue Young maintained her winning form to reset the ladies record for the 1,475 Shropshire yards at 49.65 seconds.

Roger Moran dominated the morning run-off, charging up the course to take the win in 44.95 seconds, just five hundredths shy of the track record. Martin Groves was second on 45.08 and Scott Moran was third on 45.38.

Victory in the afternoon session went to Roger on 45.11 followed home by his son Scott on 45.52. Chris Merrick was third with 46.09 and Deryk Young took fourth with 46.36. Reigning champion Groves spun away his chances and finished out of the points.

Veteran driver Brian Dennis took his historic Mini Cooper S' to a class win in 63.27 seconds.

Roger Moran collected the top award for best time of the day, won the unlimited racing car class and took 20 valuable championship points.
