HEREFORD United begin their 2007-8 League 2 programme by entertaining newly-relegated Rotherham United on Saturday, August 11.

The first away trip the following weekend brings the seemingly traditional early season visit to Barnet with Rochdale then the visitors at Edgar Street on August 25.

Old Conference rivals Morecambe will host the Bulls on September 15.

United must wait for a visit to the other promoted side, champions Dagenham & Redbridge, which comes early in the New Year on January 5.

The Christmas holiday fixtures, which in previous years often featured a local derby fixture, are rather a let-down with a visit to Macclesfield on Boxing Day followed by a trip to Bradford City on December 29.

New Year's Day brings one of the likely promotion favourites, Notts County, to Edgar Street.

Easter is not much better in terms of travelling with Bury visiting Edgar Street on Easter Saturday, March 22, and a trip to Lincoln City, scene of Hereford's impressive 4-1 win last season, scheduled for Bank Holiday Monday, March 24.

Hereford's nearest rivals in mileage terms, Shrewsbury Town, come to Edgar Street on January 12 while the eagerly-awaited visit to the Salopians' new ground follows shortly afterwards on February 23.

Other relatively short trips, to Wrexham and Chester, are scheduled for September 1 and October 13 respectively.

The season concludes with a visit from Grimsby Town on May 3.
