SASCHA Kindred added to his glut of medals last night when he was crowned sportsman of the year for the second year running at Herefordshire Sport's annual ceremony.
Kindred – who earlier this month announced his retirement from the swimming – broke the world record in the 200m Individual Medley at the Rio Paralympics.
It was Kindred's seventh gold medal at six Paralympic Games, adding to many more won at World and European Championships.
Water sports also produced the 2016 junior sports achievers, with Millie Boucher and Alun Rickards both products of Hereford Waterpolo Club.
Boucher is a Welsh senior ladies player and junior ladies' captain, as well as a member of the Great Britain squad aiming to reach the European and Commonwealth Games.
Rickards, meanwhile, is also a Welsh Junior men's player and gained Welsh senior level status, as well as playing rugby at senior club level.
This year's sportswoman of the year is Clara Evans, who has been a long time member of Hereford & County Athletics Club.
On an individual basis, she gained Welsh ranking in five running distances, including on the road, in cross country and on mountains, while becoming Welsh champion at 10km and half-marathon distances and being selected for Welsh national teams.
Her efforts at club level have assisted them to climb the regional club team ladder.
