A HEREFORD Boxing Academy student came out on top in a thrilling bout in Oldbury, near Birmingham.
Jake Price took on Warley ABC's George McCarron and won the contest on a split decision.
The Hereford boxer started slow as McCarron used his height and reach to take the first round.
However, Price improved in the next round and got his jabs in early.
Both boxers showed their strengths, but it was Price who shaded it.
And the Hereford fighter upped his game in the final round, with his fitness greater than his opponent's.
Price controlled the round and took the bout on a split decision.
