AN elite boxer showcased his skills at South Wye Police Boxing Academy.
Connor Fanning travelled from his Hall Green club in Birmingham to train with the amateurs before he became the East Midlands champion.
One star he fought with was Yusuf Abdallah, who has been selected to box in Sweden in November and is hopeful of defending his West Midlands title next month.
Vince McNally, the club secretary at South Wye Police Boxing Academy, said it has been a very busy close season at the Hinton based club.
"The last weekend in July saw female boxers from all over the country selected to take part in a national development training camp at the South Wye Police Boxing Academy," said McNally.
"This three day event focused on technical skills, ring generalship, and video analysis of sparring sessions.
"This year, 30 girls took part in the camp along with national coaches from England Boxing.
"We want to encourage the sport, especially our female boxers who gained so much training with the best in the country.
"Our club is a community club, and we're very proud of the fact that you don't have to compete to take part.
"Many of our club members just like to come and train, but if you do want to compete, we are committed to giving our squad boxers the best opportunities out there."
