HEREFORD boxer Yusuf Abdallah will compete for the Midland Championship this weekend after winning his semi-final.
The South Wye Police Boxing Academy star dominated against his Shrewsbury School of Boxing opponent to win by unanimous decision.
Abdallah will now take on Connah Walker from Wolverhampton in the 69kg final.
"We're very proud of Yusuf, the championships are a difficult challenge in the sport," said South Wye Police Boxing Academy's Vince McNally.
"Club shows are arranged by coaches and in the championships you have to compete against all in your weight to see who is the best."
Meanwhile, a trio of local boxers will join Abdallah on the South Wye Boxing Academy's annual senior elite show.
Kane McKenzi, Danny Williams and Zack Morris have all be selected to compete at Hereford Sixth Form College in December.
The event has been given an extra boost this year as its one of only a handful of amateur shows to be televised, with an estimated TV audience of 4.5 million viewers set to watch the action on Sky and Freeview.
"Preparation is going very well, with Olympic coach Richie Woodhall monitoring the boxers' progress," added McNally.
