SOUTH WYE Boxing Team impressed a packed crowd with 11 home taught boxers in action during the club's charity boxing dinner against a UK Select Team.
A sold-out crowd gathered at Hereford Sixth Form for the event which raised money for St David's Pupil Referral Unit.
Local boxers in action included Joe Powell in a school boy fight, Shay Jarrett in a female bout, Kyle Bobryzcki, Othman Said, Josh Powell, Sam Lambert, Zac Morris, Cliff Henry, Danny Williams, Nathan Morris and Andy Turner.
The Hereford Times cup for best bout on the night and the Jim Smith Memorial Cup for best boxer on the night were both awarded to Powell, from Madley.
"It was my third fight and I loved it as it was my first win," said Powell.
"The first round I got caught with a left hook and thought I was going to lose it so put everything into the second two.
"I've always loved boxing and started two years ago but I wish I had started sooner."
Promoter Vince McNally was delighted to see half of the South Wye Boxers come away with victories on the night against some tough opponents from across the country.
"Our shows don't make money but are all about trying to put on a sporting event," added McNally.
The club's Christmas Show is taking place on December 15.
