TAEKWONDO fighters from Hereford proved their worth when they came away with a host of medals from the Welsh Closed Championships recently.
The team which ranged from experienced to first time competitors had a fantastic day bringing home a total of 17 medals including eight gold, seven silver and two bronze.
Ben Hargreaves who is a 4th Dan and assistant coach at the Hereford club had a great day, firstly retaining his Patterns title and then winning the Sparring title beating a regular Welsh team member who he had never defeated before.
This was followed by Adam Janczewski and Kelly Murray winning gold in their first competition, Janczewski fought in the heavyweight division at only 5 foot and 6 inches tall fighting competitors up to six foot five and won convincingly.
Medal winners were: Ben Hargreaves- gold in black belt Sparring and Patterns and silver in Tag Teams; Tom Windows- gold in black belt Destruction Leg and silver in Sparring; Oskar Domanski- gold in blue belt Sparring, Patterns and Tag Team; Adam Janczewski- gold in sparring;
Kelly Murray- gold in Sparring; Rob Pizii- silver in Sparring and Patterns; Laura Rackauske- silver in blue belt Patterns and bronze in Sparring; Julie Hadley- silver in Sparring; Oskaris Rackauskas- silver in blue belt boys Sparring; Patryck Janczewski in bronze Sparring.
