RISING boxing star Alex 'Pinky' Florence continued his unbeaten professional career with a fifth straight victory, this time against Worcester’s Michael Mooney at the Gloucester GL1 Leisure Centre earlier this month.
Hereford boxer Dean Evans was also on the show recording a home victory on points in the lightweight classification against Kristian Laight.
In front of a packed crowd Florence dominated his opponent in the super-lightweight bout showing a demonstration of powerful punching leading to him winning every round of the scheduled six.
"It was nice to step up to six rounds on my fifth professional fight in front of a good support backing me," said Florence.
"I'd like to thank the people who bought tickets and came out to supported me on the night as without the fans I wouldn't be able to box. So thank you, I hope I can keep the strong and growing support in my professional career."
Ledbury Boxing Club’s amateurs also continue to shine with Patrick Morgan winning by unanimous decision against Elijah Carrol from Chepstow ABC, keeping his amateur unbeaten record at a show in Llandeilo, South Wales earlier this month.
The club's coach Fred Florence is now a professional boxing coach and hopes to take Alex all the way to the top along with the rest of the students at the boxing club.
