SOUTH Wye Police Boxing Academy can now boast two Midlands Champions amongst their ranks following a successful finals competition.
Yusuf Abdallah, who weights in at 69 kilogrammes out boxed and outclassed his opponent Will Ashton from Burslem, in a one sided final in the Ivy leaf club in Birmingham.
Abdallah continues to shine and is now placed in the top 10 of the National Championship competition.
Spokesaman for the boxing academy Vince McNally was delighted with the win and said that Abdallah is a very determined fighter who worked hard for the victory. Abdallah is in his final year at medical school, and trains in between his studies.
Another up and coming boxer who was also crowned Midlands Champion weighing in at 63 kilogrammes is Shay Jarrett.
Jarrett is the club's first competitive female boxer, and the Hinton base club are proud of what she is achieving in the sport.
Both boxers are hoped to be showcasing their talents on December 15, when South Wye Police Boxing Academy Christmas show at Hereford Sixth Form College.
