JOSH Gowling scored a goal to remember as his 96th minute strike earned Hereford a 1-1 draw against previous league leaders Chorley.
The Bulls looked to be heading to back-to-back defeats before with the last kick of the game Gowling rifled his strike home.
“I don’t score many and it has been a while since I have scored so it was just amazing,” said Gowling.
“I just think we deserved the result more than anything take away my goal we just deserved something, to get it at the end was just amazing.
“We were disappointed with the goal we conceded. When they got a man sent off they dropped right off. The manager put me up front and we just put balls into the box and forward.
“We were just edging for it and we believed we would get something at the end and we did.
“I just thought I’m hitting this as the referee is going to blow so I’m going to have a go. I back myself with my left and I haven’t scored one in a while so I just thought when it bounced I’m hitting this.
“Luckily it went in the top corner.”
When asked if he had hit a sweeter strike, Gowling replied: “Never.
“It was just one of them times when your luck changes and turns. You get them results at home and your confident, things like that fly in and I was the one to be fortunate today.”
His goal sparked a huge celebration around Edgar Street.
He added: “I got a bit angry and I think I elbowed Keyon (Reffell) in the face. It was brilliant to get a goal with the last kick of the game like that was just amazing.”
The celebrations caused pushing amongst the two squads as the players left the pitch.
“You don’t like things like that.
“We deserved something out of the game and maybe a draw is a fair reflection. You just shake hands and get off the pitch. Someone threw some water at someone. You don’t want to see that in football, it’s not professional.
“We try and be professional and we’re better than that.”
