THE SOUTH Wye Boxing Academy will be hosting their first Open Day Show in a bid to showcase the talents of their athletes.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 13, at Aylestone School.
A spokesman for the academy said: "We are excited to showcase our boxers and show the public what we, as a club, do in our gym.
"We have been hosting dinner shows for a few years which have been a huge success and getting more popular each year so we decided to host a daytime show with a more relaxed feel.
"We have both junior and senior bouts planned to show the community that boxing is for anyone."
The South Wye Police Boxing Academy held a highly successful pre-Christmas event at Hereford Sixth Form College when club members competed with others from across the region.
The event was well attended and raised £500 to help the college continue to provide extra-curricular activities for all students, particularly those who have become disengaged with the benefits of physical activity.
Principal, Peter Cooper, visited the club to meet the boxers and received the cheque.
He said: "I want to thank Vince McNally and his team for all they do to support our college and the Hereford area.
"They offer a great programme and have some fine people who have come through the club.
"It was a pleasure to meet them although I think the photo is the only time you will be seeing me in the ring with any of them!"
