BARTESTREE and Lugwardine are winless after three matches in the Worcestershire County League Division Two after falling to a 118-run defeat by Barnt Green seconds.

After electing to bat the visitors put in a consistent display of batting reaching 108-5 and then 210-8 off their 50 overs with Owen Beynon taking top bowling figures of 2-15.

In reply Bartestree lost two early wickets which set the tone of the innings with only

Dan Harris (26) and an unbeaten 25 from Jack Trattell helping their total of 92 all out.

Brockhampton seconds were also beaten in Division Two falling to a six wickets defeat by Himbleton with skipper

Glyn Harrhy’s half-century was the only highlight in their total of 145-9, which was easily reached in 32.5 overs.

Colwall increased their lead at the top of Division One after a decisive eight-wicket home victory over Burghill, Tillington and Weobley at Stowe Lane.

Put in to bat by home skipper, Ben Cooke, Burghill had no answer to the four-man seam attack of Mike Gooch, Dan Newby, Luke Dalley and Andy Robertson as they slumped to 83 all out in the 36th over.

Colwall were then given a solid start by Cooke and James Abel who put on 61 for the first wicket before the latter was caught for 30.

Bowler Alex Hedges claimed a second scalp when he trapped Matt Morgan leg-before, but wicket keeper Ben Wheeler came in to thrash three fours and a six in his unbeaten 20 to settle the issue in style, Cooke coming off with 31 not out to continue his impressive form.

Bromyard were equally as impressive as they continued their good start to the campaign with a 10-wicket win at Bredon.

Three wickets each for Gregory Leighton and Josh Van Rensburg led the bowling attack and saw the hosts fall to 107 all out from 46.4 overs.

In response openers Ian Bullock (73) and Nick Leighton (20) completed the victory without loss from 27.3 overs played.
