ELECTRICAL problems with his motorbike stopped Hereford rider Luke Jones from competing at his best in the latest round of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Oulton Park, writes Tim Davies
The double race weekend got off to a perfect start when Jones and his Highsparks Ducati team set the second fastest time in the opening practice session in the wet.
Qualifying was held on Saturday morning, ahead of the mid-afternoon first race.
Electrical problems hampered the Highsparks Ducati in the dry, and Jones was only able to qualify 20th for the first race, 2.3 seconds off pole.
Unfortunately Jones was not able to complete a racing lap in either of the two races due to issues and will be hoping for better fortune at the series penultimate round at Donington Park at the beginning of October.
