A HEREFORDSHIRE boxing club will have two fighters competing in the final of a national senior competition this weekend.
South Wye Police Boxing Academy fighters Othman "Habibi" Said and Rhiannon Roberts will take to the ring this weekend in Banbury in the final.
Said earned his place in the final following a spectacular win last weekend in Darlington in the Northern final.
"Habibi was on a different level," said club secretary Vince McNally.
"It was pretty clear that he won every round and was given a unanimous decision by the judges." His opponent Tom Callaghan, from Northside Boxing Club in Manchester, came over to congratulate Habibi.
His opponent said: "I just couldn't get near him, every time I threw a punch, he wasn't there."
South Wye Boxing Club coaches Paul Catten and David Beaumont travelled with Habibi to the show. They said: "He is a joy to be around and coach, we are all looking forward to the final."
Roberts, a school teacher from Hereford, will be fighting against the London champion for the England Boxing Championship title.
