HEREFORD taekwondo fighters got their year off to a golden start by clinching a host of medals.
Stefan Dragomir travelled to Kettering to take part in the Midlands competition, coming away with three medals including gold in the tag team event and kick power competition along with a bronze in the hand power event.
The rest of the team travelled down to Newport for the Welsh closed competition.
Despite poor weather and illness stopping some members competing the rest did themselves and the club proud.
Jack Thomson was the star of the show, entering his first competition and coming away Welsh champion in both sparring and patterns.
Kelly Murray kept up her fantastic winning streak of over two years running with gold in sparring, winning a close fought match that went to sudden death against her team-mate Laura Rackauske and bronze in tag teams.
Along with her silver in the sparring Rackauske also won bronze in patterns. Molly Higginbottom was also in good form taking silver in patterns and bronze in tag teams.
Meanwhile, Patryk Janczewski took silver in patterns and bronze in tag teams and sparring.
Adam Janczewski won silver in patterns, Oskaris Rackauskas took bronze in tag teams while Tanya Williamson won bronze in patterns.
