LOCAL runners are taking part in a virtual competition while they aren't able to compete.
Hereford Couriers have launched the ‘Keep Herefordshire Running’ club on mobile application Strava.
The group is aimed to help, support and keep everyone motivated during a difficult time during the coronavirus pandemic.
The idea is that each week the club will post a virtual activity (it might be a route, distance, time trial) on the Couriers Facebook page for everyone to take part on their own.
All runners need to do is complete the activity (any day, any time they want) during the week and upload it to Strava.
Weekly virtual awards are given for the fastest three men and women each week along with points towards a overall leaderboard.
The opening week saw a 50 runners take part in the five-kilometre 'my parkrun' challenge.
In the men's category Andy Tyler clocked the fastest time of 18 minutes and 16 seconds while quickest woman was Laura Tootell in 23.03.
This week the challenge is the 'Magic Mile' and The off-road 10k.
