SOPHIE Elcox-Bond scored a second half winner to give Westfields Women a derby victory over city rivals Hereford Pegasus Ladies.
Fields were looking for a revenge at Old School Lane after a 3-2 county cup defeat over their rivals last month.
The visitors got off to the perfect start with Katie Young running through on goal twice to give them a 2-0 half-time lead.
However, Pegasus came charging back level with Courtney Bowkett and Annie Davies both scoring.
But it was Westfields who would have the last say with Elcox-Bond firing home the winner to make it two wins from two in the shortened Midwest Counties Female League.
“It was definitely nice to get the victory,” said Westfields manager Ben Archer.
“They are always close games between us but it’s nice to get a win over our rivals.
“These sorts of games tend to be the ones which decide what happens at the end of the season.
“We now need to push on in the league as we’ve won two hard games which will hopefully help us push on and give us confidence.”
Archer praised the character his side showed after Pegasus equalised to go on and win the tie.
He added: “When Pegasus scored their second they pushed on and we could have easily gone down.
"The girls showed good character as they were put under a lot of pressure so it was good to see that."
