- Hornchurch had the first sight on goal with Liam Nash firing across goal for a comfortable Brandon Hall save.
- However, it was the Bulls who took the lead after 12 minutes firstly Tom Owen-Evans saw an effort blocked.
- However, moments later a short corner routine saw the midfielder pull back away from the crowd and slide the ball home.
- At the other end Jamie Grimes was called into action to block a menacing looking shot.
- Joey Butlin felt harshly done by as he headed wide in a dangerous position but claimed he was barged by Mickey Parcell.
- Michael Bakare was next to go close for Hereford turning to create space before chipping the ball over.
- The Bulls were starting to take control and Lewis Butroid should have done better with an angled shot inside the box.
- Chris Camwell was next to go close forcing a save from Joseph Wright to deny his direct free-kick moments before Luke Haines flicked a header wide.
- Hornchurch almost levelled three minutes into the second half when Joe Christou flicked the ball over the ball after it was rifled at him inside the box.
- Moments after coming on Charlie Ruff almost had an equaliser chesting the ball down before firing towards goal only for Hall to save.
- Jared Hodgkiss saved the Bulls after 17 minutes as Liam Nash beat the off-side trap and the goalkeeper but not the Hereford skipper who cleared off the line.
- However, on 75 minutes Hornchurch were level after a long throw-in was headed onto his own by bar Jamie Grimes only for the ball to drop nicely for Charlie Ruff underneath the bar to tap the ball home.
- The Bulls responded with Kyle Finn seeing his deflected effort fly wide before Bakare's header was also wide.
- Three minutes before the end Hornchurch took the lead with Ruff sending a long ball into the box which was headed back down to Liam Nash free inside the box who fired home.
- Hereford were visibly tired and Ellis Brown outran Luke Hains before slotting past Hall to make it 3-1.
