Brimfield and Little Hereford Bowling Club held a memorable finals day when seven titles were up for grabs.
Dave Evans got off to a flying start in the men’s singles, taking a 10-5 lead against Craig Webb.
The game tightened up when Webb found his line and length but Evans dug deep and after taking eight shots in three ends carved out a 20-15 lead, needing one for the match.
On a day of high drama, Webb refused to lie down, finally nailing the win 21-20.
There was more of the same in the ladies’ singles, Barbara Griffiths trailing Jennie Cole by 11 shots before roaring back with nine shots in four ends to bring the score back to 16-14.
With the match tied at 19 across Cole found the two she needed to come home 21-19.
Partners Jim and Lynne Allen went head to head in the prestigious Arthur Edwards Trophy, Jim edging it 21-17.
In the Millennium Plate, Bob Hughes and Ian Ferguson matched up in their first club final, Hughes taking the honours 21-18.
Seven hours of bowling concluded with two crown finals and the Barnet Bowl pairs.
In the 11 ends Barnet, Rosie Sheridan and Richard Griffiths lifted the trophy 9-6.
Dave Evans took on Alec Tandler in the crown singles, maintaining a narrow lead to win 21-19.
In the crown pairs, Tandler and his wife Karen proved too strong for Craig Webb and Chris Woodcock, cruising to a 21-5 victory.
