HEREFORD Pegasus Ladies progressed through the Women's FA Cup first qualifying round following a 4-3 victory over Redditch United.
The Worcestershire visitors opened the scoring in the third minute when Robyn Hall cut the ball back for Lucy Driver to find the back of the net.
Pegasus eventually found their stride and equalised when Ella Bowen saw her 21st minute free-kick on the left edge of the penalty area parried by visiting goalkeeper Annie Davies and captain Emily Morgan was on hand to force the ball over the line from close range.
Redditch United only trailed for seven minutes with Casey Ryder putting the visitors ahead after being picked out in the penalty area and beating Katie Wood in the Pegasus goal.
The home team bounced back for a second time when Bowen took advantage of a mistake by United to score with an opportunistic long-range effort to level the scoreline once again.
Pegasus took the lead for the first time in the tie nine minutes after the half-time break, when the impressive Kaye Haggett fired a 25-yard rocket into the top corner of the net that gave the goalkeeper no chance to keep out.
The hosts eventually made their possession count when Roxy Dinescu was fouled in the penalty area and picked herself up to successfully convert the ensuing spot-kick.
There were a few nerves amongst home supporters as Redditch United halved the deficit in the 89th minute when Lucy Driver netted her second of the afternoon after Chloe Bailey broke down the right flank and delivered an inviting cross into the penalty area.
However, Pegasus managed to negotiate stoppage time without conceding a fourth goal and can now look forward to a trip to higher-graded Lye Town in the next round of the competition on Sunday, October 1.
