WESTFIELDS boss Phil Glover says side are hurting after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of city rivals Hereford Pegasus.
Goals from Josh Hunt, Carlos Moreira and Jordan Williamson sent Fields to their third defeat of the season.
“It was a poor performance for us especially in the first half,” said Glover.
“Pegasus deserved their win on the day. Our record in derby games has been very good over the last three or four years, we’ve not lost many at all.
“In derby games if you’re not at the races then these results can happen.
“We weren’t at the races in the first half and got punished by Pegasus who were relentless on the day.
“In the second half we were better, but the game was already put to bed.
“We’re disappointed, but if you look at the league table after eight games we’re five points behind top.
“We’ve started with two derby games, played both Worcester sides away and two sides that came down from a higher league last season.
“Games come thick and fast and we need a reaction.
“The lads are hurting after that. I kept them behind after the game and it’s not a feeling the lads want to get used too and are not used too.”
Fields return to action on Tuesday night against Pershore Town, while Hereford Pegasus welcome Longlevens.
