WESTFIELDS bowed out of the FA Vase on Saturday following a 3-1 home defeat to Worcester Raiders in an exciting end to end cup tie.
Fields had the best chance to open the scoring in the first half when from a left wing corner Jay Richmond headed wide of a gaping goal.
Raiders hit back and forced Jack Oxenham in the Westfields goal to produce a stunning save to keep the score goalless at the break.
After the interval Dan Stoneman riffled home a terrific opening goal to put Westfields ahead in the tie.
However, Raiders drew level in the 75 minute through Jordan Murphy and with the game level the Vase match looked set to be decided on penalties.
Raiders strength and experience eventually told and they scored two late goals through Murphy and Richard Smith deep into injury time to advance into the next round.
Westfields now go to Lydney Town on Tuesday in the Hellenic Premier Division and return back to allpay.park on Saturday when Thornbury Town are the visitors for another league match, kick-off 3pm.
