HEREFORD Pegasus have slipped outside the Hellenic Premier play-off positions following back-to-back league defeats over the festive period.
On Saturday afternoon Peggy were beaten 3-2 by play-off rivals Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
Jordan Williamson netted a brace as his side battled back from a goal down to level the match 2-2 at half-time.
However, the stubborn Pegasus was breached 10 minutes from time when a swift Bassett attack resulted in Alfie Presley sweeping home.
Pegasus then welcomed Slimbridge to The KGD Stadium on New Year’s Day and suffered a 5-3 defeat.
Slimbridge were in charge after opening the scoring on 10 minutes, despite Harry Pitman netting a brace for the hosts.
Cawley Cox scored a third Pegaus goal, but his side suffered a 10th defeat of the season.
Westfields travelled to league leaders Corsham Town on Saturday and gave a hardworking performance but were beaten 1-0.
A goalless first half saw Westfields keeper Zeke Vivian keep the leaders at bay with a string of fine saves.
Westfields did have a good effort on goal when the Corsham keeper did well to hold onto a long range effort from Adam Wakely.
After the break Corsham Town took the lead in the 50th minute when home skipper Mark Cooper headed home a corner to break the deadlock .
Westfields felt they deserved a late penalty after Harrison Summers put a menacing cross which the Corsham defence failed to clear and as Adam Wakely prepared to score the equaliser his footing was lost by a challenge but referee Keith Simpson waived away the appeals.
Following their Boxing Day derby victory Hereford Lads Club also suffered back-to-back defeats this week.
Youngster Arwyn Walby scored the opening goal as his side suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Roman Glass St George.
Lads Club were then beaten 4-1 at home on New Year’s Day to Royal Wootton Bassett Town, with Brandon Jennings netting for the hosts.
