WESTFIELDS fell just short of a dramatic fightback as play-off chasing Fairford sent them to a 4-3 defeat.
The hosts saw their 16th minute opener quickly cancelled out through a left footed Daniel Stoneman volley.
However, 23-goal striker Jamal Lawrence put his side into a comfortable half-time lead netting twice in quick succession to give his side a 3-1 lead.
Fields were back in the match straight from the restart through a clinical Harrison Summers finish.
Fields’ task was made harder when Mason Godsall was shown a second yellow card to reduce Fields to 10 men.
Fairford looked to have sealed the points and despite Stoneman scoring his second of the night to make it 4-3 Fields were beaten.
