HEEREFORD Pegasus extended their unbeaten run to four league matches after drawing 2-2 at struggling Lydney Town.
The game was littered with unforced errors by both teams and, all goals being scored inside the first half hour.
The hosts scored first when a long kick fell to Jordan Sheen who rolled the ball past advancing goalkeeper Aiden Bryant.
Six minutes later Pegasus gained parity, which was short lived, with a Cawley Cox goal.
However, inside a minute Lydney regained the lead when Bryant elected to punch the ball rather than catch when under pressure. The ball reached Callum Dark who made no mistake to make it 2-1.
Just short of the half hour a cross from Carlos Moreira was guided goal wards by Cox inches wide of the far post.
Almost immediately the visitors gained a corner kick and Sean Powell directed his header back across the face of goal to captain Lewis Fletcher who crashed the ball into the net from 10 metres out.
Pegasus now had momentum and straight after the half-time interval a Jordan Williamson cross was driven into the side netting by Powell.
The visitors continued to probe and Cox raced onto a defence splitting pass by Luke Bufton but his shot crashed against the crossbar from 18 yards.
Cox again caused problems for home side late on and picked out Nathan Chowns-Higgs whose goal-bound shot was pushed against the post by keeper Thomas Richard.
Pegasus breezed into the final of the Herefordshire FA County Challenge Cup with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Ludlow Town at the KGD Stadium.
Manager Mark Hibbard took the opportunity to rest some players, to allow squad players the opportunity to show why they should be more involved.
He also gave a start to Louis Williams from the club’s development team.
Ludlow almost created a surprise in the second minute when a curling shot crashed against the upright.
However, afterwards the hosts controlled the game with goals from Luke Bufton, Matt James, Cawley Cox and Nathan Chowns-Higgs.
Pegasus are back in league action at The KGD Stadium on Friday night when they host Cinderford Town.
