HEREFORD Pegasus Ladies bounced back from losing their grip on the Women’s County Cup by defeating Long Itchington 4-1 to move into third position in the West Midlands Women's Regional League First Division (South).
The hosts made an early breakthrough when captain Emily Morgan swept home Sam Baker's eighth minute corner.
The lead was doubled five minutes later when Roxy Dinescu applied the vital finish touch to a swift counter-attack that started deep in the Pegasus half of the pitch.
The Warwickshire visitors halved the deficit 10 minutes before half-time.
However, Pegasus regained their two-goal buffer in the 62nd minute when Sam Baker unleashed a powerful 25 yard into the top-corner of the goal.
The points were virtually secured with 13 minutes remaining on the clock when Baker concluded an excellent all-round performance by forcing the ball home from close-range after Kaye Haggett saw her effort from a corner thunder back off the crossbar.
Hereford Pegasus will look to build upon this result when they host Worcester City Development this Sunday at the KGD Stadium.
