THE Herefordshire Football Association has raised almost £1,300 for armed forces charity SSSAFA Herefordshire.

A total of £1,298 was raised thanks to attendees to the 2024 Zzoomm HFA Cup Final programme.

Alan Darfi, HFA chief executive officer said: “It is absolutely fantastic that such a huge amount was raised to support the amazing work of the SSAFA Herefordshire team and I would like to thank each and every person who attended one of the 2024 Zzoomm Cup Finals for their fantastic donations.

“The armed forces community is an integral part of the Herefordshire football family, and it is great that we are in a position to support them through this donation to SSAFA Herefordshire.”

In December 2021 the county football association entered into a 3-year partnership with SSAFA and renamed the County Ground the HFA SSAFA County Ground.

Their clients range from 20 to 100 years old and in the last three years they have sourced more than £150,000 to support those in need within the County and have helped over 350 local service men and women, veterans and their families.

Air Commodore Tim Howson DL, SSAFA Herefordshire Chairman, said, ‘’We in SSAFA Herefordshire are so grateful to the wonderful crowds at the Cup Finals who have supported us in this way. The money will be used to help our local armed forces community, including veterans from World War 2 to the present day.
