YOUNG Herefordshire athletes put in some dominant displays at the recent multi-terraine Crocodile 8 event, which took place around Burghill and Tillington
In the junior events Hereford and County Athletics athletes took up five of the six available podium places following the testing 2.6 mile Junior Crocodile 8.
Under-17 runner Macy Balderson was quickest girl ahead of Saffi Reid in second overall and quickest under-13 girl.
Lucy Tetley completed the girls’ podium positions in third and was quickest under-15 age category runner.
Henry Lewis won the boys’ event ahead of unaffiliated runner Oscar Ansfield in second and Fred Tyler third.
In the senior event competed over 8.8 miles it was Aidan Yapp (Ludlow Runners) who was quickest covering the course in 55 minutes and 50 seconds.
Daniel Ayers finished second just ahead of Sam Butler (Western Tempo) in third.
The women’s event was won by Elana Dimmer in a winning time of 1-08-29, ahead of Polly Summers in second and Niki Morgan third.

Garway Croquet Club
Garway have a thriving croquet club, who joined the South West Federation for the first time this season.
Competing in their first league game recently they won 4 out of 5 games against Broadwas, Worcester.
