THERE was a double triumph for Ross on Wye Golf Club at the Herefordshire County Championships.
Sophie Price won the Gross Trophy with a gross score of 85 and Nadia Stirling won the Nett trophy with a nett score of 74.
After the appalling weather over the winter and early spring 40 ladies competed in the 18 hole and 9 hole Spring Meeting Stableford Competitions.
The 18-hole Josie Powell Gross Competition is awarded to the player who has the best gross score over two rounds and is completed at the Autumn Meeting.
The winner was Sally Fycun with 34 points , closely followed by Kerry Welding in second place with 33 points.
Nearest the pin on the 7th hole was Kerry Welding , on the 9th hole, Sally Fycun and on the 12th hole, Mary Smith.
The front 9-hole Spring meeting Stableford was played by 18 ladies and was won by Marie-Anne Belton with 16 points. Karen Mirfin came second with 13 points and in third place was Kay Cotton with 12 points.
Fourteen past Lady Captains from the Ladies Section at Ross on Wye had a very convivial nine-hole competition.
Ellie Teasdale Lady Captain in 2021 to 20222 won the Rose Bowl Trophy with 16 points with Rosemary Williams coming second with 15 points. Katie Stooke came third with 14 points.
There were a number of competition finals which had to be deferred due to inclement weather over the autumn and winter and have therefore only recently been completed.
The 2023 Medal Salver was finally won by Mary Smith with a nett score of 86. Runner up was Jennifer Gladwyn with a nett score of 84.
The 2023 13-hole Summer Knockout competition was finally won by won by Nadia Stirling and runner up was Lois Price.
The 13-hole Winter knockout was won by won by Lois Price and runner up was Jose Wilson.
Nadia continued her successful streak by also winning the Winter Eclectic with runner up being Sally Fycun.
Some thirty ladies played in the Ladies Vets Millenium Trophy and Club Stableford England Golf Trust competition.
Victoria Northcott came first with an impressive 34 points. Jenny Freel came second with 32 points closely followed by Mary Smith with 30 points.
The final May competition was the May Medal Rosebowl Competition in which 16 ladies participated. It was won by Sophie Price with a nett score of 74. Sally Fycun came second with a nett score of 77 and Jose Wilson came third with a nett score of 79.
