WESTFIELDS have added two new faces to their squad for next season and retained a host of last season’s squad.

Midfielders David Thomas and Cameron Keetch have both signed for Fields after previously playing for head coach Lee Kendall at the University of South Wales.

The university side created history by going an entire season undefeated winning the league and cup double and beating Hartpury in the final.

Talking about Thomas the Fields head coach said: “A top player who goes about his business on the field with quality and maturity and another fantastic addition to the squad we are building for the coming season.”

Keetch is described as an attacking left sided player who was voted player of the year last season with his club Cambrian United..

“A class signing with a top left foot who can play on the wing or in behind the strikers,” added Kendall.

Re-signing for the forthcoming season is defender Kane Kahaki, last year’s top scorer Oli Barnes, attacking midfielder Adam Wakley.

“It’s great that Kane is available next season as he has a huge part to play on and off the pitch with his experience and passion,” said joint manager Nick Morgan, “ Oli was our top scorer last season despite missing a number of weeks with an injury, it’s exciting to see what he will do this season after a good preseason.

“Adam can play in a midfield or attacking midfield role and one of the fittest players in the team, he is also another leader on and off the field which is going to be important if we are to achieve our ambitions.”

Also re-signing for the new campaign are defenders Joel Edwards, Jac Evans and George Clark, along with midfielders Luke Williams, Archie Muirhead and Nathan Davies

Joint manager Scott Russell added: “It’s great that Joel has committed having struggled the last few seasons with an ankle injury restricting his game time, now hopefully recovered its brilliant he has committed.

“His experience on the pitch and the way he helps to create a great team spirit off it is vital to a successful team.

“Jac came in during the season and has shown to be a key defender in our side with his consistent performances along with being a great lad off it, said joint manager

“Finally it’s great that Nathan has committed for next season, a top player who is excellent on the ball and consistently good every game he starts.”

Also amongst the re-signings are Dan Stoneman, Brandon Jennings and Mason Godsall.

“Morgan added: “All three have a huge part to play in the coming season with their commitment, attitude and ability on and off the pitch.

“Dan has been with the club a long time and really wants to help the club achieve its promotion ambition, his goals energy and desire to win every game is what we need, both Mason & Brandon only joined in the second half of the season and did really well for the club, they are the future and can only get better after a good preseason.”
