BARTESTREE & Lugwardine sit top of the Herefordshire Junior League for under-15s with three wins from as many matches.
In this week’s encounter Bartestree hosted Luctonians and chased down a decent target of 112 to win by eight wickets.
Lucs elected to bat and Barney Suter (23) and Jim Norman (20) helped their side to a target of 112-6 off their 20 overs.
The Bartestree bowling attack was led by Noah Pratley (2-15).
Captain Ethan Bartlett led by example hitting an unbeaten 32 and top scoring with that bat for Bartestree.
William Beaumont (22) and Tommy Spence (20) also helped as their side finished comfortably on 114-2 off 16.3 overs.
In their second league game the Bartestree under-15s travelled to Dales with a number of players missing.
However, it was Dales who got a good start with Cillian Rogers taking two wickets with his first two balls, with Bartestree falling to 11-4.
At 31-5 skipper Elliot Gale providing some calm and class to proceedings. He batted excellently and the score moved along nicely and his ticked over 100 runs in the 17th over, losing a cluster of wickets at the end to finish on 117-9 off our allotted 20 overs, Gale top-scoring with 40. G
Dales needed 118 to win, and this quickly looked like a tall order as both Dom Goodman and Will Utley each dismissing an opener.
A sharp run-out from Miles Anderson left Dales on 22-4 off seven overs.
Wickets continued to fall, being well spread across the attack as Tommy Spence, Ewan Boyle, Fin Haslam, Isaac Smith, Callum Spence and Miles Anderson all took wickets
In the end Dales were bowled out for 95 to Bartestree a 22-run victory.
