PRESTEIGNE St Andrews FC have appointed a new management team ahead of the new campaign.00

Steve Marsh and Duane Anning have been tasked with building on the work done last season and taking the club forward.

Speaking after their appointment was confirmed, Marsh said they could not wait to get started.

“We would like to keep as many of the young lads at the club as possible as they are the future,” he said.

“It’s our belief we should have a good mixture of youth and older heads while we feel if we can make a few additions, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t have a good season.

“I can’t wait to get the lads on the training pitch and, alongside Duane and the rest of the coaching staff, we are looking forward to getting out there and stamping our mark on the team.

“We all have the same philosophy as to how we would like to play, keeping the ball and playing out from the back, so fitness will be key.

Mars and Anning have appointed Jamie Williams as assistant manager, while the club’s current goalkeeper Jordan Bailey has been added to the coaching staff.

The new management team clearly appreciates the responsibility of delivering a successful team at Llanandras Park.

“We are determined to try to make the town fall back in love with coming down to watch the football team again,” added Marsh.

“We would like people to feel they can bring down the whole family and we’d like to make the club the focal point of the town on the weekend to watch a game.

“We are now just very excited to get started and get Presteigne back up the league table winning games and trophies as we did when Duane and I played for the club.”
